Samsung presenta el Gear S, con pantalla curva AMOLED y soporte 3G

Los rumores sobre un nuevo smartwatch por parte de Samsung eran ciertos y más los que se referían a que podía ser compatible con 3G, y aunque esperábamos un reloj inteligente con pantalla circular por parte de la compañia coreana, finalmente Samsung ha presentado el GEAR S, que será con pantalla curva (similar a la de la GEAR FIT pero más grande), que se adaptan mucho mejor a la forma de la muñeca. Así que  de momento sólo tenemos confirmados dos smartwatches circulares, el esperadísimo  Moto 360 y el recién anunciado LG Watch R.

En los últimos días estamos recibiendo invitaciones por parte de la mayoría de las compañías para presentar su propio smartwatch en el IFA de Berlín y Samsung no se iba a quedar atrás en la carrera por estos wearables que tanto están dando que hablar y de los que aún sabemos poco dado que no se han presentado de manera oficial, salvo por los comunicados de prensa.

Detalles de la bahía SIM y el sensor de ritmo cardíaco

Estamos ante el primer reloj (de la era de los wearables) compatible con 3G, lo que significa que no se necesitaremos de un smartphone para hacer o recibir llamadas. Aún así, si no usamos la ranura SIM podemos sincronizar nuestro Gear S con el smartphone de la manera tradicional, a través de Bluetoorh. A esto hay que añadirle las siguientes características:

  • Pantalla de 2 pulgadas curvada AMOLED (360 × 480).
  • Sistema operativo Tizen
  • Acelerómetro, giroscopio, brújula digital, barómetro, sensor de luz ambiental
  • Un pulsómetro integrado que junto con el software S Health, hará del Samsung Gear S un producto muy interesante para gente que práctica deporte. También posee un sensor UV o de rayos ultravioleta.
  • Procesador de doble núcleo a 1 Ghz, 512 MB de memoria RAM, 4 GB de memoria interna y una batería de 300 mAh (lo que podría tener una autonomía de días).
  • Contará con tecnología IP67 por lo que también será resistente al agua y al polvo.
  • Aplicaciones integradas como Nike+ Running, Navigation, S Voice o un modo de ahorro de energía (Power Saving Mode)

El Gear S se complementa con los auriculares inalámbricos Samsung Gear Circle, que nos permitirán escuchar música mientras hacemos ejercicio y lo que es mas importante, escuchar y enviar el audio de nuestras llamadas con el Samsung Gear S.

Su puesta en marcha se espera que sea a partir de Octubre pero deberemos de esperar al Samsung Unpacked del día 3 de Septiembre para conocer todos los detalles y sobre todo su precio.

The Samsung Gear S provides easy access to relevant information through essential widgets and combined notification boards. Its powerful features include turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation provided by HERE, a 24-hour news and views service from The Financial Times ‘fastFT’, works together with advanced-reading technology from Spritz, and the ability to see and respond to important social notifications instantly with Facebook. ​Also announced today with the Samsung Gear S is the new Samsung Gear Circle.
